Original Press Release:

Husky Introduces HyperSync(TM) at K 2016 - High - Performance, Integrated Specialty Closure System

Husky Injection Molding Systems, a leading industrial technology provider to the plastics processing community, has announced the introduction of its all-new high-performance, fully integrated system for specialty closure manufacturing. The HyperSync™ will be running at the Husky booth (Booth A61 in Hall 13) for the entirety of K 2016, showcasing the system’s superior performance, fast cycle times, and excellent part quality.

Husky is the only company in the industry that is able to offer a complete, integrated system for specialty closure manufacturing, with system-level enhancements that increase productivity, improve part quality, and optimize energy efficiency. The HyperSync™ is a synchronized system, with mold, machine, hot runner and auxiliaries designed to work together. Combined with intelligent features and networking capabilities that highlight Industry 4.0-level connectivity, the increased synchronization of machine and mold processes delivers faster cycle times at a lower total part cost, with no impact to product quality.

“Husky is very excited about our new integrated system offering for specialty closure customers,” said Steve Lawrynuik, Husky’s President of Medical and Specialty Packaging. “We have had tremendous success in integrated systems in PET, and now we are looking to replicate that expertise and innovative technology for other markets. We are confident that the development effort put into HyperSync™ is well worth it – this system delivers on performance, energy efficiency and ease of use, in order to ensure the best possible performance and parts for our customers.”

eIMC™ in-mold closing technology – up to 20% improvement in productivity A focus on innovation is a key differentiator for Husky. With the introduction of HyperSync™ comes the company’s revolutionary new eIMC™ in-mold closing technology. This servo-driven technology allows for the safe overlapping of mold functions, providing precise, controlled closing of flip-top closures while still in the warm position. The speed of closing is carefully controlled, allowing for quick closing movements with precision; this ensures the fastest closing speed while maintaining the ideal force required and ensuring optimal part quality. The use of eIMC™ in-mold closing technology provides up to 20% increase in productivity, with nearly two seconds saved per cycle depending on the application.

Optimized energy efficiency and part quality

Increased electrification of the HyperSync™ system ensures optimum energy usage, helping to reduce operating costs and thus ensuring the lowest total cost of ownership. HyperSync™ optimizes the relationship between productivity and efficiency, producing the best quality parts at industry-leading cycle times. Electrification of the clamp, servo-variable pumping technology, and a regenerative clamp stroke combine to deliver an impressive improvement in energy consumption over competitive systems, while maintaining optimal part quality.

Part quality and performance is of the utmost importance to Husky’s specialty closure customers. With Husky’s impressive investment in researching the science behind specialty closures, including opening force, hinge design, overmolding capabilities, and flow simulations, the company is able to optimize part development for function, weight and production processes to ensure consistency in quality. Working with a single source supplier helps to enable these system-level synergies, increasing performance and allowing for faster market introduction of new products.
