High-Speed Data Recorder provides fault detection.

Press Release Summary:

Equipped with FPGA technology for speed and accuracy, Delphin Expert Transient can acquire — in synchronization with PLC data — peripheral signals such as pressure pulses, temperature, flow, vibration, and status of relays and contactors. Eight or 16 analog tracks can be synchronously acquired in parallel at sampling rates up to 50 kHz/channel in combination with digital signals. Device also features 4 digital inputs and can be extended to over 100 analog or digital inputs via LAN interface.

High-Speed System for Fault Detection

Delphin Expert Transient Captures Anomalies

CHESTERLAND OH — Fault detection in large facilities often requires the synchronized acquisition of measurement data and PLC information from different locations. The Expert Transient enables high-speed and synchronized data acquisition from signals on frequency converters and drive systems as well as the information from their PLC systems. As Delphin’s master distributor in the USA, CAS DataLoggers offers this new product for PC-independent operation—call us at (800) 956-4437 and learn more.

Transient data acquisition: Events that cause faults--whether in electrical networks or in systems--usually occur only sporadically. A single peak can trigger an alarm. Such peaks require acquisition and analysis which need long-term and continuous recording. By recording sporadically-occurring errors, the Delphin Expert Transient Data Acquisition System is a perfect tool for fault detection and analysis in plants and machinery.

The Expert Transient is equipped with powerful FPGA technology for high speed and accuracy, and is capable of synchronously acquiring and independently saving analog measurement data. The Expert Transient's high-speed analog and digital inputs can acquire--in synchronization with PLC data-- peripheral signals such as pressure pulses, temperatures, flows, vibrations and the status of relays and contactors. 8 or 16 analog tracks can be synchronously acquired in parallel at fast sampling rates of up to 50 kHz per channel in combination with digital signals. The device also features 4 digital inputs and can be extended to over 100 analog or digital inputs via a LAN interface with high-speed synchronization protocols.

Measurement data can be recorded either continuously or according to triggered events. Data recording takes place using an internal or external storage medium (NAS). Expert Transient devices have a highly compact and space-saving design. The Expert Transient does not require PC support so data recording is stable and secure. In addition to the analog signals, PROFIBUS ‘sniffing’ can be performed and the data synchronously recorded.

The Expert Transient can also be supplied in a robust mobile measurement case for PC-independent fault analysis in harsh environments. The standard device, equipped with plug-in terminals, is ideal for use with test stands or in laboratories.

Fault analysis on drive systems and conveyor belts:

The data is recorded locally within the device. Triggers can then be configured to record faults along with their pre- and post-histories. For plants spread over wide areas which require multiple devices for fault analysis, synchronization takes place using a GPS clock.

ProfiSignal Analysis Software

Data can be accessed using a network or USB stick and evaluated using analysis functions from the included Delphin ProfiSignal software. Delphin’s ProfiSignal measurement and testing software is ideal for data acquisition, test automation and process data acquisition applications. ProfiSignal combines data from different devices to enable precise fault analysis according to the cause-and-effect principle.

The software enables online/offline analysis, visualization and operation from any PC workstation as well as PC-controlled process automation and database communications via ODBC/SQL. All measured values can be transferred to online storage and will work on PCs or servers.
