Strippit/LVD Introduces VT Series 30-Ton CNC Turret Punch Presses

Akron, NY-Strippit/LVD introduces the VT Series of Thin turret tooling style
30 metric ton CNC turret punch presses. VT turret punch presses are rugged, full-featured machines with a large, 40-station turret and sheet carrying capacity up to 60" x 98.4" (1524 x 2500 mm). VT Series punch presses provide fast set-up and reliable operation for consistent performance in high production applications.

Strippit/LVD's latest punch presses are built on a heavy-duty, stress-relieved frame that provides stability for precision punching, and reduces noise, shock and vibration to maximize machine and tooling life. Combined with an advanced table positioning system, this rugged frame design achieves finished part accuracy of ± .004" (0,10 mm) with a repeatability of ± .002" (0,05 mm) over the entire table. Bridge frame construction provides accuracy and durability.

Available in two 30-ton configurations, VT models punch materials up to .250" (6,35 mm) with a maximum hit rate of 1000 HPM at 0.04" (1 mm) pitch.

Automatic Features Maximize Productivity
Programmable relocatable work clamps and a programmable parts chute reduce set-up time and operator intervention. Strippit/LVD's patented Smart Stroke® feature automatically calculates the optimum hover height for every stroke of the ram, for greater productivity. Smart Clamp(TM), another standard feature, automatically determines exact clamp locations to provide the smallest possible no punch zones.

Programmable Ram
The VT's hydraulic ram permits electronic adjustments that take advantage of its intuitive control interaction. The operator interacts with a single graphic screen that provides tool images to aid in selection. The user can apply custom settings or alterations to stroke elements such as depth offset, dwell and ram speed, to further maximize machine capabilities.

40-station Turret with New 2" (50,8 mm) Stations
VT Series punch presses feature a 40-station Thin-style turret with four standard 3.5" (88,9 mm) auto-index stations and four 2" (50,8 mm) fixed stations.
The new 2" (50,8 mm) mid-size tool stations further increase the productivity and versatility of the machine as they enable the use of larger diameter tools and form tools without sacrificing the large 88,9 mm diameter stations.

All 40 turret stations are keyed to accept shapes, reducing set-up time.
The auto-index stations accommodate a variety of indexable Multi-Tools, further enhancing turret capacity and flexibility while minimizing set-up requirements.

The VT turret features hardened steel guide bushings for accurate punch and die alignment. Bushings can be quickly and easily replaced, eliminating the need for costly remachining of the turret.

VT punch presses accept wheel tooling for quick and efficient cutting or forming of straight or curved shapes without nibbling. They also employ part-marking technology for part number or sheet marking requirements and can utilize tapping tools.

Advanced GE Fanuc 180i Control & Offline Programming
Strippit/LVD's VT machines are equipped with a world-class GE Fanuc 180i CNC control. The control allows the machine operator to edit, input or output programs during machine operation to reduce set-up and improve productivity. A large 1 GB hard drive provides ample space for program storage.

Optional CADMAN® programming software package offers a complete, integrated solution to prepare offline programs for punching, laser cutting and bending. The CADMAN-P 3D module for turret punch presses provides automatic tool selection and turret configuration, including the identification of optimum tool stations and turret loading. This module provides full support for all standard and advanced punching functions, including Auto-Index stations, Multi-Tools, standard and special punches, forming, embossing, tapping, stamping and rolling tools, as well as powerful automatic nesting features.

Automatic Load/Unload & Robotic Material/Parts Handling
The productivity of VT Series punch presses can be further enhanced with the addition of an automatic load/unload device or Pick-Sort robotic material handling system.
Strippit/LVD's automatic load/unload system reduces manual worksheet handling and provides fast, efficient processing of materials up to .135" (3,5 mm). The Pick-Sort robotic material handling system converts the VT machine into a freestanding, lights-out production cell. Machine and robot are integrated to maximize punch press productivity. The robotic system loads full size sheets and automatically retrieves and stacks individual punched parts with dimensions up to 39" x 78" (1000 x 2000 mm).
Strippit/LVD is a leading manufacturer of a comprehensive range of sheet metal/plate working machine tools and software solutions, including laser cutting systems, punch presses, press brakes, guillotine shears and automated flexible manufacturing systems, integrated and supported by its CADMAN® PC-based Windows® compatible software.
