Cable interconnects inputs and outputs of AES3 devices.

Press Release Summary:

D5526EZ dual pair, 110-ohm cable utilizes foam polypropylene dielectric for low attenuation, and tight-twist lay with foil shield for noise rejection. In addition to insulated conductors, D5526EZ has non-conductive polypropylene rod that stabilizes and maintains impedance as cable is flexed. Co-extruded zip type construction allows for easy breakout, connector termination and installation.

Gepco Unveils Thin-Profile, 110-OHM Digital Audio Dual-Pair Cable At AES

Convenience for Interconnecting Inputs and Outputs of AES3 Digital Audio Devices

NEW YORK, November 30, 2001-Gepco International. Inc. is introducing the D5526EZ, a dual version of its popular thin-profile 5526 series of 110-ohm digital cables, at AES 2001, Booth #628. The new dual-pair construction offers a convenient way to interconnect the input and output of an AES3 digital audio device over a single cable.

The D5526EZ features the same thin-profile, 26-gage and easy termination construction found in Gepco's other 5526 series of cables. The co-extruded zip type construction of D5526EZ allows for easy breakout, connector termination and installation, while the thin profile achieves smaller bundle diameters in systems with large signal density. To further ease termination, the D5526EZ has a bonded foil shield with drain wire for quick shield termination.

In addition to easy termination, D5526EZ features both precision electrical and mechanical performance. The D5526EZ utilizes a foam polypropylene dielectric for low attenuation, tight manufacturing process control for an exacting 110-ohm character-istic impedance and a tight-twist lay with a foil shield for excellent noise rejection. In addition to the insulated conductors, D5526EZ also has a special non-conductive polypropylene rod that stabilizes and maintains the impedance as the cable is flexed.
