On board thermistor monitors for temperature fluctuations
Cincinnati, OH (November 6, 2007) - Undetected temperature changes can affect both the burst pressure of a bursting disc and other key process parameters. To better monitor this process variable, pressure-management specialist Elfab has introduced a new version of its burst detection system, the Flo-Tel(TM) +.
Flo-Tel + is an ATEX approved, non-invasive, magnetic burst-detection system, installed on the vent side of the bursting disc to minimize process downtime. Unlike traditional membrane-type detectors, Flo-Tel + is fail-safe and only operates when a disc has ruptured, thereby eliminating false alarms. The new Flo-Tel + combines all the benefits of Elfab's original burst detection system with the additional advantage of a built-in thermistor to monitor the process temperature.
Available for use with all of Elfab's core product lines, Flo-Tel(TM) + is suitable for use in all levels of potentially explosive atmospheres in process temperatures ranging from -100°C up to 300°C. Flo-Tel + will support Elfab's Radio Communication detection system, Radio-Tel, to be launched early 2008.
Since the introduction of the original Flo-Tel(TM) in 2003, thousands of the detection systems have been installed worldwide. Elfab is offering existing users of Flo-Tel the opportunity to upgrade to Flo-Tel + at a special reduced introductory price.
