Electroid's Introduces New XT "Xtreme Torque" Brake To Triple Torque Ratings

SPRINGFIELD, NJ - ELECTROID, of Springfield New Jersey, has just introduced a new Model in its powerful XT "XTREME TORQUE" Series of clutches and brakes. The XT Series was designed for the most demanding applications, requiring the highest torque in the smallest envelope.

Model XT-58B is only 1.63" in height, with a diameter of 2.44", yet it offers a holding torque of 60 in.lbs. This is about 1/3 the size of a standard power-off conventional brake. This provides an economical and space-saving solution for aerospace and military applications, robotics, computer chip and clean room handling equipment, automation machinery, medical applications, material handling equipment, food handling machinery, etc.

Used for extreme holding applications, Electroid's XT Series employs a proprietary and innovative friction material that surpasses the barrier in the design and manufacture of friction surfaces. The XT Series has consistently demonstrated unprecedented coefficients of friction between 0.75 and 0.95

Electroid has subjected its new XT Series and proprietary friction material to the most rigorous testing procedures and conditions devised for clutches and brakes. This includes testing for extreme temperature variations, severe vibration spectra, high relative humidity, shock, extreme altitudes and high shaft rotational speeds. In all cases, both the product and friction material met or exceeded performance requirements.

Other models in the XT "Xtreme Torque" Series are available, as well as custom designs to fit the customer's most demanding applications.
