Aluminum Age Oven Reduces Cycle Times

Wisconsin Oven Corporation's model Batch-7/21/8-G was designed and manufactured to age aluminum automotive wheels. Other possible applications include composite curing, tempering and aging other aluminum components.

This Natural Gas Fired Batch oven has a 7' wide x 21' long x 8' high work chamber and is rated for a maximum temperature of 500° F. The oven body is fabricated with 4" thick tongue and groove panel assemblies, and is reinforced with structural steel. The interior sheet metal and ductwork feature aluminized sheet metal, which is a bonded finish, resistant to corrosion, flaking, peeling, etc.

The high pressure blower provides over 31 air changes per minute. In addition to excellent temperature uniformity (it certified at better than +/- 5 degrees F), the heat-up times were decreased. The oven also includes a special cooling system, which uses motor-operated linkage to open the exhaust and fresh air dampers to shorten the cooling cycle. These features allowed the customer to reduce their cycle times, which results in increased production rates.

The oven is loaded and unloaded through an air operated vertical lift door at the front of the oven. A special man door is provided within the main oven door to provide access to the oven interior when the vertical lift door is closed.

Combination airflow through the work chamber ensures uniform heat distribution throughout the interior. This type of airflow supplies heated air through a fully adjustable duct located on each side of the work chamber near the bottom.

In addition to three (3) identical Age ovens purchased by the same customer, Wisconsin Oven Corporation also provided Drop Bottom Furnaces and Quench tanks to this same customer.
