New Version of Red Wing Software's Perception Accounting Utilizes Web Technology and Offers Wide-ranging Enhancements
Red Wing, MN, August 4, 2003 - Red Wing Software, the nation's leading developer of agricultural accounting software, announced a new version release for Perception Accounting, a financial management system for farms and ranches. The 2004 version, scheduled for release September 26, 2003, utilizes Web technology for new Help features, and includes budgeting, reporting, search, and checkbook balancer enhancements.
"Perception 2004 will have a major impact on existing users, making it easy to communicate via the Web with our support department," according to Mark Machtemes, Sales Manager. "Plus, with so many added report enhancements, and easy search capabilities, the new version helps solidify Perception as a leading financial product for the ag market."
The added Web Technology expands producers' ability to communicate with Red Wing staff and other producers beyond normal daytime working hours. A new feature allows users to request a technical support call directly from Perception. The Enter Support Call option launches a Web page that allows a user to enter a subject, question, and other information. The process logs a support call for response via e-mail or telephone. A user can also enter the Online Red Wing Community Forum by using the Enter Forum menu selection on the Help menu. The forum is designed as a help tool for Perception users to correspond with their peers.
Other Help features include enhanced Video Help installation, and a new Video Help tab located with the context-sensitive help buttons on the lower portion of the screen.
In addition to posting book and market value balances, Perception 2004 also posts modified cash balances for balance sheet information on tax returns. Tax Balance Sheet Reports are now a click away.
"The enhancements to the Search functionality of Perception make it even more efficient for customers," says Matt Hilton, Ag Sales Consultant. "New frequently used date range parameters and data filters are great when you don't have a lot of time to spend in the office."
The Checkbook Balancer enhancements include added columns and subtotals in the Reconcilement Detail Report to simplify comparisons with bank statements.
