Optosecurity Announces the World's First Inline Liquid Threat Detection System for Security Checkpoints that Interprets Standard X-Ray Tomography to Identify Potential Liquid Threats
The Optosecurity XMS upgrades legacy checkpoint X-Ray systems and improves the efficiency of security screeners to detect explosive threats, including seemingly innocuous materials/liquids that can be combined into threats.

The threat detection and identification is achieved by interpreting standard checkpoint 2-D X-Ray tomography (imagery). Optosecurity has filed a number of patents in the United States and internationally regarding this technology. (XMS = X-Ray Molecular Spectrometer)
Key features of the Optosecurity XMS include:

o XMS may be combined with the OptoScreener, the world's first optical
threat detection system (weapons and weapon components)

The Optosecurity XMS has been demonstrated to prospect customers and partners and is in development for launch and deployment in 2007. The XMS System is designed to be integrated with legacy X-Ray systems stand-alone, or may be bundled with the OptoScreener for additional performance in threat assessment. When bundled, both the OptoScreener and XMS are housed in the same hardware unit clamped on the side of the legacy X-Ray system.
