ERNI's MiniBridge(TM) 1.27mm Pitch Single Row Connector Offers the Highest Current Density Available
Press release date: November 15, 2012
MiniBridge™ connector latching options provide rugged connectivity in ultra-compact size…
RICHMOND, VA – ERNI, a leading supplier of connectors and value added services, has developed an ultra compact 1.27mm pitch single row connector system that delivers the highest current density on the market. The MiniBridge™ wire-to-board connector features a high-temperature IDC wire termination and is rated up to 4A per contact.
The MiniBridge is available in vertical or right angle terminations with ribbon cable or discrete wire options that are suitable for up to 24 AWG cable. The superior versatility of the MiniBridge connector system can be obtained as individual components or in a complete cable assembly from ERNI’s ISO-certified facilities.
Ideal for lighting applications, the MiniBridge connector is available in neutral white, which discourages shadows that can be caused by black connector bodies in light fixtures. The MiniBridge connectors are fully compatible with higher temperature RoHS-compliant SMT soldering profiles, and their construction incorporates board hold-downs for maximum retention and vibration protection on printed circuit boards. Advanced strain relief is provided for the contact solder joints through built-in locating pegs, which also enable proper placement on printed circuit boards.
“Two latching options in the MiniBridge connector provide superior configuration options that can withstand tremendous vibration force,” said Sam Hines, product coordinator at ERNI. “The black friction latch requires no tools to un-mate the two connectors, while the red active latching version protects against accidental unplugging.”
The MiniBridge connector system is available in 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12 positions with an air and creepage distance of 0.4mm. Typical pricing starts at $1.97 for a 10-position board mounted connector with a lead time of 4 weeks.
