Panasonic Announces New PA-55 Pre-Engineered Welding Cell
December 2007 - Buffalo Grove, IL - Panasonic Factory Solutions Company of America (PFSA) has expanded its line of pre-engineered PerformArc welding cells with the addition of the highly productive PA-55.
The PA-55 system has an extremely high output to investment ratio, making it suitable for first time automation users as well as large companies automating low-volume projects. In fact, it can pay for itself even if used only two days a week. The PA-55, like other PerformArc systems, typically produces as much as 3 manual welders while delivering consistent weld quality.
Its small footprint allows easy placement in tight spaces. The system can accept a payload of up to 250 lbs per side and welds typical part sizes that include 12" x 53", 18" x 45", and 24" x 30". A platen design provides repeatable fixture locating when multiple fixtures are to be exchanged on the same work-cell. The PA-55 comes standard with a Panasonic 6-axis robot, a Panasonic inverter welder with artificially intelligent waveform control, and a Panasonic torch.
Like the rest of the PerformArc family, the PA-55 comes pre-wired and pre-assembled for fast installation and relocation. Full system controls, diagnostics, and programming capabilities are managed by the color teach pendant, running Windows CE to flatten the learning curve. Best of all, the whole system is supported by one vendor: Panasonic.
