OKK Adds VM76R Vertical Machining Center to Best-Selling Lineup

OKK STRENGTHENS ITS BEST-SELLING VM LINE WITH ADDITION OF HIGHLY RIGID VM-76R VERTICAL MACHINING CENTER

Glendale Heights, IL - The world's best-selling line of box way machines, OKK USA Corporation's VM Vertical Machining Centers, has been upgraded to include the new VM-76R.

The VM-76R Vertical Machining Center is designed to reach new levels of rigidity and accuracy, while offering an expanded work area.

To achieve a 20% increase in rigidity, the VM-76R features a re-optimized rib shape / location and a thicker 1-ton casting. Y-axis pitch has grown 3.14" to reduce deflection by 30% and improve accuracy. The machine is also equipped with a No. 50 spindle taper for heavy-duty cutting and larger tool capacity. An optimized ATC function adjusts ATC speed for heavy weight and larger diameter tools. Other powerful features include a 12,000 RPM 40HP spindle motor with 309 ft. lbs. of spindle torque and a 3.93" diameter spindle inner bore diameter. For hard cutting material applications, an 8000 RPM gear driven spindle with 349 ft. lbs. of spindle torque is available to attain excellent torque and HP at lower spindle rpm.

Servo upgrades result in feed thrust increases up to 65%.

To meet the high precision demands of die mold applications, the VM-76R is equipped with double anchored core-chilled ball screws and Soft Scale III for exceptional control of thermal displacement.

The VM-76R's expanded worktable (61.02" x 29.92"), stroke (60.62" x 29.92") and new head design help prevent collision between the work piece and spindle head. While the work area has increased, the depth of the machine is only 3.15" larger than its predecessor, the VM7III. The size of the VM-76R is 157" (W) x 155" (D) x 130" (H).

The VM-76R's FANUC F3Ii and Mitsubishi Neo730 Controllers feature a larger, user-friendly display panel. Other operator-friendly improvements include a wider step inside the machine, the addition of a folding outside step and LED lights.

The VM-76R is capable of machining a wide range of materials, including Inconel and titanium making it superior for die mold and oil/gas industries.
