Kardex Systems, Inc. Introduces Custom-Sized Pans and Improved Payload Capacities on the Titan III Vertical Lift Module
December 15, 2005, Marietta, Ohio Kardex Systems, Inc.'s, Titan III Vertical Lift Module offers new customization capabilities, pan capacities to 1,200 pounds, and overall payload capacity up to 88,000 pounds in a single module.
The unique structural framework of the Titan III offers countless opportunities to match the machine to the application. Greg Jarvis, Product Manager for Kardex Systems says, "The Columbia, South Carolina BMW plant needed a customized pan size for their door panel assemblies. Kardex was able to provide this along with two other unique pan sizes not offered by other manufacturers."
Customization for BMW included a 40" deep by 50" wide pan for rooftops and a 32" deep by 75" wide standard pan for wire harnesses. The new capabilities and custom specifications per unit are provided with in-house software design and support. Jarvis adds, "Typically Titans are associated with reducing the footprint of a plant's maintenance crib by 75% or more. They provide a work-in-progress/buffer stock parts mini-AS/RS right on the assembly line."
