November 2, 2007 - Release Detection and Remediation Response (RDR2) is used for detecting petroleum leaks of underground storage tanks and fuel lines. Using IR technology and notification system, it provides immediate response to underground hydrocarbon contamination, automatically informs owners about leaks, and starts clean up process. Subsurface metabolism enhancement can be used instantly to allow microbes to consume petroleum contamination leaving only harmless water and carbon dioxide.

Innovative RDR2 Technology Cleans up Environmental Problems

Underground remediation system could save millions in clean up costs

Salt Lake City, UT-October 15, 2007-Ellis Environmental, an environmental services and research and development company, introduces the Release Detection and Remediation Response (RDR2), a patent pending remediation system for petroleum leaks of underground storage tanks and fuel lines. RDR2 provides an immediate response to underground hydrocarbon contamination avoiding costly business closures or underground contamination removal. Native underground microbes are fed oxygen and nutrients through a previously installed remediation system. Also, state of the art infrared
technology and a sophisticated notification system automatically inform owners of leaks and immediately start the clean up process.

"RDR2 is the ultimate protection of the environment from regulated facilities," said Mark Ellis, President of Ellis Environmental, "With the ability to detect leaks and immediately respond with corrective action and notification, leaks are discovered before they grow and migrate. The ability to remediate the leaks as quickly as they occur reduces the cost for remediation dramatically and RDR2 becomes a property asset, not just a contamination response method." RDR2 is a welcome alternative to current remediation practices which require heavy machinery disturbing business operations through digging up and removing underground contamination. Now, subsurface metabolism enhancement can be used instantly to allow microbes to consume petroleum contamination leaving only harmless water and carbon dioxide.

The RDR2 system also employs the use of the SME Multi Sensor, a new infrared technology designed to detect a wide range of petroleum vapors in extreme conditions. The SME Multi Sensor has proven to increase the reliability, accuracy and robustness of gas detection technology. Ellis Environmental now seeks experts in the gas instrument manufacturing industry to implement the SME Multi Sensor into a full instrument and distribute it to the market.
