Underflow Thickener Pump is suited for mining applications.
December 2, 2010 -
Without damage to working parts, SPX handles thickener underflow and various metallurgical acid slurries typically used in mining operations. Peristaltic hose pump minimizes maintenance concerns and can handle high solids content. As inherent metering pump with repeatability at 99.5%, certain models include digital drives with PROFIBUS or SCADA control in NEMA 4X washdown enclosures. Self-priming pumps accommodate flow rates from 0.1 ÁL to 350 gpm and withstand pressures to 232 psi.

Watson-Marlow Launches Underflow Thickener Pump for Mining Applications
SPX Ideal for Handling Abrasive and Corrosive Slurries
Watson-Marlow, the leading manufacturer of peristaltic pumps, announces the heavy-duty SPX thickener underflow pump, ideal for processing challenging mining applications. The Bredel SPX reliably handles a variety of harsh materials, including abrasive heavy metal slurries and corrosive cyanide, copper sulfate and methylcellulose.
Unlike conventional pumps, the SPX handles the thickener underflow and various metallurgical acid slurries typically used in mining operations without damage to the working parts of the pump. Peristaltic hose pumps are virtually maintenance free with no expensive impellers, liners or mechanical seals to replace, no check valves to clog and no rotors and stators to wear out. In addition, millions of gallons of water can be saved as our hosepump can handle very high solids content compared to centrifugal
type pumps. This also eliminates the requirement to treat this waste water.
Every Watson-Marlow peristaltic pump is an inherent metering pump with repeatability at 99.5%. Many models include integral digital drives with PROFIBUS or SCADA control in NEMA 4X washdown enclosures. These self-priming pumps accommodate flow rates from 0.1 microliter to 350 gpm, and are extremely durable, withstanding pressures up to 232 psi. There are no internal universal joints, valves, dead corners, or glands to impede flow, and these pumps are reversible for back flushing lines. They can also run dry indefinitely without damage and provide up to a 30' suction lift.
