July 15, 2003 - Zetex Twisted Ropes, made from highly texturized amorphous silica yarns, come in 1, 1, and 2 in. diameters. Once cut, they retain their shape integrity. Ropes withstand continuous heat to 1100F, as well as cold to -100F. Standard 25 lb spool yields 48 ft for 1 in., 36 ft at 1 in., and 28 ft at 2 in. diameter. Applications include boiler doors, boiler inspection plate covers, and dome or lid covers within molten metals market.

Newtex Introduces Large Diameter Zetex Twisted Ropes
VICTOR, N.Y. - Newtex Industries expands its line of Zetex twisted ropes to include three new diameters: 1 ”, 1 ; and 2”. Zetex twisted ropes, made from highly texturized amorphous silica yarns, feature the hardest density and firmness to provide a stronger seal for gaskets and seals. Zetex twisted ropes are easier to install when cutting specific lengths. Once cut, Zetex twisted ropes retain their shape integrity, not opening completely, which allows for smoother installation.
Applications include boiler doors, boiler inspection plate covers, bag house doors, and dome or lid covers within the molten metals market. Industries that use Zetex twisted ropes include power generation and turbine insulation, steel, aluminum, copper and other basic metals groups, construction, chemical processing, petroleum refineries, heat treating and stress relieving, automotive and industrial maintenance.

Large diameter Zetex twisted ropes can withstand continuous heat to 1100F (593) and higher temperatures at short duration, as well as cold to -100F (-73C). Twisted ropes are available in a standard spool size of 25 pounds, which yields 48 feet for the 1 ’’, 36 feet at 1 ” and 28 feet at the 2” diameter. The tolerance for each of the three large diameters is + 1/8”. The ropes may also be coated with the renowned ZetexPlus, raising the operating temperature to 2000F (1093C). Other coatings available are silicone and Teflon.
