September 9, 2010 - Waste Edge® monitors are available with Alert Plus(TM) feature, which provides remote diagnostic and shut-off features. When alarm is triggered, Alert Plus automatically sends notification of problem - emergency-stop button activation, overload trip, hopper door left open, or container not returned - to designated recipients. Waste Compactors Place Their Own Support Calls...Prevent Unnecessary Field Service

What if a waste compactor could send an email or text message when it needed help? Downtime and expensive field service calls would be greatly reduced. That's the idea behind the Alert Plus(TM) enhancement to Waste Edge® trash-compactor monitors. Industry data indicates that many field service calls address problems that the compactor user could have corrected, if the nature of the problem was known. Alert Plus(TM) provides remote diagnostics to identify these conditions and to prevent many maintenance-related problems from occurring.

When an alarm is triggered, the system will automatically send notification of the problem to designated recipients. A problem as simple to correct as resetting the Emergency Stop Button can cause unnecessary and expensive service calls. Alert Plus prevents this expense by automatically sending alerts of different waste compactor conditions, such as: emergency-stop button activation, overload trip, hopper door left open and container not returned. A low-oil alert can prevent a future problem from occurring. With this additional information, waste compactor users can easily correct many problems without the need for a field service call.

An additional capability allows remote deactivation of a compactor, as required, to maintain safety or in response to unpaid service fees.

The Alert Plus is now available for all new and existing Waste Edge Systems. Once Alert Plus hardware and software have been installed, operation is fully automated. Waste Edge is the world's most popular remote waste compactor management system.
