Resilient Terephthalic Resin Introduced for Pultrusion and Wet Molding Applications

Enables Faster Line Speeds

Research Triangle Park, NC (March 16, 2006) - Reichhold has introduced a new low-styrene, resilient terephthalic, POLYLITEŽ 31516-00, for pultrusion and wet molding applications.

PolyliteŽ 31516-00 is a low-styrene, resilient terephthalic resin developed as a performance match to the resilient isophthalic resin systems. The material was developed to yield a lower total cost structure for pultruders by enabling them to increase line speeds.

Pultruders will find that this resin provides faster line speeds while helping them meet MACT regulations. Customers in wet molding also benefit from the low styrene, high reactivity, and tough laminate physical properties.

With a styrene level of 30% or less, it is MACT-compliant and also direct injection capable.

This resin boasts a low viscosity with a low-styrene chemical composition. This low viscosity, outstanding physical properties and all around toughness make it suitable for a wide variety of FRP production applications allowing for high production rates.

Applications for PolyliteŽ 31516-00 include:

o Window Lineals
o Ladder Rails
o Tool Handles
o Fan Shrouds
o Structural Shapes
o Utility Pole Cross-Arms
o Lower end Sheet Piling/Seawalls
