October 1, 2002 - Firetrace® Fire Suppression System requires no electricity or external power. Polymer tubing can be routed anywhere within engine compartment. When exposed to open flame, tubing ruptures, dispensing entire contents of cylinder containing fire-suppression agent such as FM-200®, C02, dry chemical powders, and foam. System is totally self-contained and helps prevent extensive vehicle damage. It is suitable for enclosed spaces within vehicles of 250 ft³ or less.

An automatic fire detection and suppression system for protecting the engine compartments of buses, trucks, and mass transit vehicles is being introduced by Firetrace® International of Scottsdale, Arizona.
