July 22, 2003 - Available with 1, 3, or 5 pipe diameters of flow straightening, products reduce turbulence and protect against particles. Units incorporate strainer, elbow, and pipe-reducer functionality along with quick-release cover and 1/8 in., stainless steel, perforated screen with 20-mesh liner. Diffusers are offered in cast iron, configured to replace 90° elbow, as well as in fabricated carbon steel or stainless steel to suit installation with end connections of 2 x 1¼ in. up to 36 x 36 in.

SSI Equipment Announces Greater Flow Straightening on Suction Diffusers
SSI Equipment, Burlington, Ontario, Canada announces their proven line of Suction Diffusers are now available with one, three or five pipe diameters of flow straightening. An SSI Suction Diffuser installed in front of a fluid pump in place of a strainer extends pump life by reducing turbulence and protecting against particles while providing more free area than a strainer.
SSI Suction Diffusers incorporate the functions of a strainer, flow straightener, elbow and pipe reducer in one compact unit. Standard units include a quick release cover for easy cleaning and a 1/8" stainless steel perforated screen with a 20 mesh liner for startup. A wide variety of optional screens, mesh liners, covers, materials and other custom options are available. SSI Suction Diffusers are available in cast iron configured to replace a standard 90° elbow as well as in fabricated carbon steel or stainless steel customized to suit your installation with end connections 2" x 1-1/4" up to 36" x 36".
