LTA/LTB Submersible Level Transducers

Measurement Specialties, Inc. (NASDAQ: MEAS) has just released its new LTA/LTB submersible level transducers for production that are specifically designed to meet the rigorous environments encountered in liquid level measurement and control.

These transducers are ideal for pump control applications such as lift station monitoring, tank liquid level, landfill leachate monitoring, construction bypass pumping and dewatering.

The LTA features a 1.0" body with a ported nose cap design that protects the stainless steel diaphragm from damage. The LTB features a wide mouth non-fouling protective cage that protects the 2.75" TFMR PTFE flexible diaphragm. Both models have a static accuracy of ±0.25% FSO over an operating range of -20°C to +60°C (-4°F to 140°F).

These transducers utilize a highly accurate pressure sensor assembly specifically designed for hostile fluids. The assembly is integrated with supporting electronics in a durable waterproof housing constructed of 316 stainless steel. Four standard precalibrated pressure ranges are available: 0 - 5psi, 0 - 15psi, 0 - 30psi and 0 - 50psi with a choice of a vented or sealed gage pressure reference. The polyurethane electrical cable is attached with an over-molding process that prevents moisture intrusion for reliable long life and is custom-manufactured and available in custom lengths.

The LTA/LTB is CE-compliant to EN61326-1:2001 and EN61326-3:2006, has an IP68 and a NEMA 6P housing protection rating. Optional UL and FM certification for Class I - III, Division 1 and Group A - G locations is also available.

Measurement Specialties acquired Pressure Systems, Inc. ("PSI") in September 2010. Measurement Specialties will continue to develop, manufacture and service the highly accurate level measuring instruments that Pressure Systems is renowned for in the environmental and municipal markets.

Measurement Specialties, Inc. designs and manufactures sensors and sensor-based systems. The company produces a wide variety of sensors and transducers to measure precise ranges of physical characteristics such as pressure, force, vibration, torque, position, temperature, humidity, fluid properties, mass air flow and photo optics. Measurement Specialties uses multiple advanced technologies - including piezoresistive, electro-optic, electro-magnetic, variable reluctance, magneto resistive, digital encoders, thermistors, thermocouples, RTDs, capacitive, resonant beam, application specific integrated circuits (ASICs), micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS), piezoelectric polymers and strain gauges to engineer sensors that operate accurately and cost-effectively in customers' applications.
