July 26, 2002 - Solid-Concentrates reduce hazardous spills, and eliminate environmental dangers involved in disposing of empty drums. They integrate with existing pumping and testing systems using fail-safe, dual-solenoid dissolving unit, which attaches to wall and dissolves 1 gal of Solid-Concentrate at a time. Dissolving process completely washes each container; container can then be disposed of with regular waste or recycled.

APTech Introduces Solid-Concentrates for Safer, Easier Water Treatment

New Products Address Worker Safety and Environmental Concerns

CINCINNATI, OH, July 9, 2002 -- After three years of development and testing, APTech, LLC has launched a nationwide roll-out of a full line of Solid-Concentrates for treating scale and corrosion in boilers, water towers and other water systems. The Solid-Concentrates are safer, easier to use and less expensive than the liquid water treatment products on the market today.

APTech's chemists began research and development work on the Solid-Concentrates in 1999 to provide a solution to rising liability costs associated with liquid chemicals and to address ongoing environmental legislation dealing with disposal of industrial chemicals. The company test-marketed the product successfully in several regions over the last eighteen months.

"Shipping and handling dangerous liquids that are up to 80 percent water was never an optimal approach to water treatment," said James Heimert, CEO. "But it was the only type of product available until now. Our Solid-Concentrates beat liquid treatment products on every measure of time, cost and safety."

Solid-Concentrates reduce storage space requirements and worker exposure to hazardous spills, and eliminate the environmental dangers involved in disposing of empty drums, Heimert said.

A carton of four one-gallon plastic containers of APTech product weighs about 50 pounds and does the work of a 55-gallon, 500-pound drum. The new products integrate easily with existing pumping and testing systems using a fail-safe, dual-solenoid dissolving unit which APTech designed and manufactures itself The small unit attaches to a wall and dissolves one gallon of the Solid-Concentrate at a time. The dissolving process completely washes each container; the container can then be disposed of with regular waste or recycled.

APTech offers a complete line of the products, designed to correct most types of raw water problems, such as varying ranges of hardness, pH, and alkalinity, for cooling water, boiler water and closed loop applications.

"We've taken proven technology and succeeded in putting it in a lightweight, spill-free form," said Heimert.

APTech is seeking strategic distributor alliances throughout the United States and worldwide. "This is a excellent opportunity for distributors," said Heimert. "Solid-Concentrates will give them the opportunity to win new customers, and the products are much easier for full-service distributors to transport and service. We also offer private labeling arrangements."
