Galorath Announces Release of SEER-DFM(TM) 5.2

Version 5.2 Adds New and Enhanced Manufacturing Process Knowledge to More Accurately Estimate and Analyze Production Costs

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Aug. 1 - Galorath Incorporated, the leading provider of advanced modeling tools for project estimation, planning and project control, today announced the release of SEER-DFM(TM) Version 5.2. SEER-DFM is a cost designer tool for parts, process, and assembly. It allows design engineers to produce reliable estimates of manufacturing costs as well as providing design and producibility guidance to achieve the most efficient and affordable designs possible.

Version 5.2 adds an array of new capabilities for estimating and analyzing manufacturing costs for state-of-practice and state-of-the-art manufacturing processes. Two of the new manufacturing processes contained in version 5.2 were developed in partnership with Northrop Grumman Integrated Systems Sector: a Detailed Harness Assembly model that provides detailed input variables addressing all cable and harness manufacturing scenarios, and a Tube Fabrication, Welding, and Processing model that provides detailed estimation and analysis for singular tubes, complex multi-tube assemblies and manifolds. The latter encompasses the fabrication of the tubing as well as the assembly, welding and processing of tube assemblies.

"The new processes added in SEER-DFM 5.2 again demonstrate Galorath's ability to work effectively in partnership with key customers to deliver an industry-based, robust and useful cost estimating system that meets the user's needs," says Karen McRitchie, vice president of development for Galorath Incorporated. "By extending SEER-DFM's capabilities into new process areas and additional process capabilities such as non-destructive testing, part marking and packaging, SEER provides a greater ability to accurately forecast a product's ultimate cost and offers users greater insight into producibility implications based upon their design criteria and decisions."

In addition to the new tube and harness models, other enhancements to the SEER-DFM modules include:

o Tooling cost estimates can now be defined in greater detail, including
estimates for tool design and fabrication.
o The inspection and rework models have been enhanced to include non-
destructive testing (NDT) and the option to enter a company's own
inspection and rework percentages.
o Modules for part marking and packaging are now included so that a
complete picture of end-to-end processes can be included in cost
estimates.
o Labor rate inputs have been improved to include greater visibility
into overheads and integrate with the SEER-RateMaker model.

Version 5.2 also provides an improved automation interface to facilitate integration with other engineering and analysis tools, including FIPER from Engineous Software and SolidWorks from SolidWorks Corporation.

Pricing and Availability

SEER-DFM Version 5.2 is shipping now. New pricing options are now available for seat, site and combination seat/site user licenses. An unlimited use site license begins at $29,500 per year.
