Data I/O® Announces New DataMapper File Management Tool

New Tool Provides Flexible IP File Management

REDMOND, Wash., Feb. 8 / -- Data I/O Corporation (NASDAQ:DAIO) today announced the availability of DataMapper(TM), a Windows application that is capable of translating and merging customer data files from the most popular file formats into one binary output file. This output file can then be used with TaskLink(TM) and Data I/O device programmers to rapidly and accurately process production programming jobs.

Most embedded applications are designed for cellular handsets, PDAs, consumer electronics and media devices and are based on feature-rich, flexible designs. A single device may be programmed with different data files to create a custom feature set in the finished product. In addition, selective re- programming capability is often desirable for field upgrade and service activity.

These rich applications are the product of many designers who work together, often as part of an extended design team. One effort produces operating system code, another may produce application code, and still another may produce test code or data tables. All of these source files may be produced in different formats, respective of the design tool used to produce the file.

Until now, the effort to re-format and combine various files into a "production ready" single image file has been a burden for many design teams.

DataMapper makes this cumbersome task easy -- with the ability to browse, select, and insert data files into one final 'image' file that is programming ready.

"Surprisingly, to date there are no truly simple tools to support the combining and addressing of multiple data files into one," said Megan Miller, Director of Marketing for Data I/O. "DataMapper has wide appeal for design, NPI and prototype teams, and ultimately can assure that the manufacturing line reproduces the product precisely as originally designed."

"New devices today are increasingly providing multiple programmable arrays and expanding features for the designer. Data I/O recognizes the fact that programming in the future must approach the device as a combination of distinct elements, rather than as a single device. Our solutions take that need into consideration -- and provide the greatest flexibility for both design and manufacturing processes," Miller added.

DataMapper is a Windows compatible desktop application intended for design and test engineers. Single use licenses start at $495 USD. DataMapper is available immediately through Data I/O sales representatives worldwide.
