Idera Simplifies SQL Server Backup and Recovery Management with SQLsafe 4.0

New features enable 'hands-free' management of backup operations and graphical point-in-time recovery for Microsoft SQL Server databases.

Houston, TX -- March 26, 2007 -- Idera, a leading provider of management and administration solutions for Microsoft SQL Server, today announced version 4.0 of SQLsafe, the company's award-winning high performance backup and recovery solution for SQL Server databases. SQLsafe 4.0 is the first and only backup and recovery solution to offer policy-based backup for SQL Server databases -- allowing database administrators to define, automate and monitor backup schedules across multiple servers and databases enterprise-wide.

As organizations increase the number of SQL Server databases in use, manually planning, managing, and reporting on backups for these servers can become a time-consuming challenge for Database Administrators (DBAs.) Furthermore, proof of successful backups is often required to ensure compliance with Audit Requirements, Service Level Agreements, and Maintenance Plans. With SQLsafe's policy-based backup, DBAs can implement a 'hands-free' automated backup environment to ensure that SQL Server backups are performed on schedule, failures are highlighted for rapid remediation, and compliance reports can be easily produced.

Additional innovative features delivered in SQLsafe v4.0 include:
o IntelliRestore(TM) - Greatly accelerates recovery time in the event of data loss by providing graphical point-in-time recovery using a sliding time scale. Simply choose a point in time and SQLsafe will automatically assemble all the backup components and execute the operations necessary to restore the database to the specified point in time.
o Multiple database restore - Saves time in emergency recovery situations by allowing DBAs to quickly restore multiple databases at once using a simple restore wizard.
o Reliable, high-performance backup & recovery for SQL Server 2005 Express Edition
o Full support for advanced backup options in SQL Server 2005 - Provides maximum available control of backup operations

SQLsafe accelerates, compresses and encrypts SQL Server backups -- reducing backup time by up to 50% over native backups, and reducing backup disk space requirements by up to 95%. SQLsafe drastically reduces storage costs while also improving SQL Server performance, availability, and security enterprise-wide. SQLsafe was recently awarded the 2006 Backup and Recovery Product of the Year by SearchSQLServer.com.

Pricing and Availability
SQLsafe version 4.0 will be available in the next 14 days is priced at US $995 per SQL Server instance. Free 14-day evaluation copies may be downloaded at www.idera.com/products/sqlsafe.
