Label Printing Says Good Bye to PC/Network
The NEW LabelRunner(TM) family of software eliminates the need for a dedicated PC or network connection for label and thermal coder printing applications. Many customers do not want to purchase dedicated PC's or spend the money on networking their printers. For others, it's just a matter of convenience or control. With either LabelRunner product, label format design can be centralized and controlled. Additionally, the dedicated PC is now eliminated. Companies can choose to use one cable and plug it into each machine as they need to download a label format, or purchase either a serial or infra-red cable for each printer and plug in or beam the format as needed.
The operation is simple. Design your label format in the label design software. Set the LabelRunner software to receive the information. Send the label format to print- just like you would if you were connected to the label printer. LabelRunner receives and stores the label format and data. You can even select a name for the stored label format. When you want to print the label, you select the label format from the LabelRunner, plug it in to your printer and send or beam it to the infrared transceiver. It's that simple. Whatever information you designed and stored into the label format will be sent via the LabelRunner to the printer.
LabelRunner Wireless can transmit data either utilizing a serial cable or wireless via infrared data transfer. It stores up to 15 label formats using resident printer fonts and bar codes. LabelRunner Pro is ideal for storing large numbers of label formats or large format files (up to the memory capacity of the Palm unit). These formats can include any printer or graphical font, graphic or barcode that can be designed in the label design software. Data is transmitted via serial cable connection.
LabelRunner Wireless and LabelRunner Pro are available as software products for users with existing palm units (Palm requirements available upon request) or as a complete package (palm, software and cables).
LabelRunner software is useful on many levels. In addition to end-user applications, resellers of thermal transfer printers find it useful as a tool for their sales staff and maintenance staff. Label formats can be stored in the palm and downloaded either serially or using infrared communication to the label printer. Sales staff no longer have to boot up their laptop and either create or send a label from their laptop. The infrared or serial cable is small enough to be shipped with the printer. All the sales representative has to do is plug in or beam the stored label format from LabelRunner to the printer. Maintenance and service persons can store test formats for various label printers all in one convenient, pocket sized palm unit.
The Basic LabelRunner Palm Unit can store up to 8 MB of label formats. Other Palm units are also available. In addition to the LabelRunner Software, the Palms also include all of the functionality of a standard Palm Pilot including calculator, calendar, and address book.
LabelRunner can be customized for private labeling for a one-time fee. It is also available for direct sale and resale.
