Software Suite unites disparate security system views.

Press Release Summary:

SAFE v3.0 lets organizations unite multiple discrete physical security systems - employee/vendor access, video surveillance, alarms, credentials/badges - into one point of identity and event control via Web-based dashboard. Resultantly, users can guarantee cardholder's ID is properly authenticated, authorized, and provisioned. Modules are available that provide best practices for unique security requirements specific to regulated and complex industries.

Quantum Secure Launches SAFE 3.0

Major Software Update Offers Pre-packaged Modules for Specific Industries

SAN JOSE, Calif., Sept. 15 -- Quantum Secure, Inc. (www.quantumsecure.com) today launched the third generation of its leading SAFE suite of software for the physical security industry, highlighted by several new groundbreaking industry-specific applications.

Quantum Secure is the exclusive provider of enterprise software to manage and streamline security identities, compliance, events and operations across disparate physical security systems.

With the SAFE suite of software, organizations can unite multiple discrete physical security systems (e.g. employee/vendor access, video surveillance, alarms, credentials/badges, etc.) into a single point of identity and event control through SAFE's web-based "dashboard."

As a result, users can guarantee that a cardholder's identity is properly authenticated, authorized and provisioned across a wide range of diverse physical security systems. Resulting benefits of the SAFE suite of software include improved regulatory compliance, operational costs savings and tighter overall security.

With the release of SAFE 3.0, Quantum Secure is introducing new modules that provide industry-best practices for the unique security requirements of highly regulated and complex industries, including:

-- Airports & seaports
-- Large, multi-tenant facilities
-- Federal government
-- Telecommunications
-- Healthcare

"Quantum Secure's initial value proposition was built around convergence -- connecting and integrating physical security cardholder's identities and events under one global policy," said Ajay Jain, president and CEO of Quantum Secure. "With SAFE 3.0, we are extending and significantly enhancing the value of convergence by offering highly customized and configurable solutions that are role-based and industry-specific."

Another key enhancement to SAFE 3.0 is an expanded SAFE Self-Service feature. This unique and easy-to-use administration function lets authorized personnel log into a secure site and:

-- Request physical access permissions
-- Submit badge and/or metal key requests
-- Request replacement for lost/damaged/stolen cards
-- Manage temporary/pool cards
-- Pre-register/invite visitors
-- Review physical access area audits

In the past, these critical tasks were highly labor-intensive, often taking days or weeks to process. SAFE 3.0 Self-Service offers an intuitive, user-friendly interface and reduces the time (less than two minutes) to file access permissions and requests. With SAFE 3.0, physical security departments can be more focused on managing security polices and anomalies rather than simply managing paperwork.

Vik Ghai, CTO and vice president of products at Quantum Secure, added: "Like so many industries that have benefitted from a self-service approach, SAFE 3.0 represents a real leap forward in physical security management. For example, a real estate management company that may lease property to multiple tenants can deploy SAFE 3.0 to effectively manage each tenant's own secure area and access policies. This depth of customization drives new flexibility, customer service and control, while reducing total cost of ownership at the enterprise level."

The SAFE 3.0 software suite is currently being deployed in several organizations, including large international airports, global telecommunications companies and highly-secure federal government agencies. Quantum Secure expects to introduce additional industry-specific SAFE applications in 2009.
