Slip Ring offers floating brush design.

Press Release Summary:

Slip Ring comes in sizes from .50 to 14.00 in. Brush contacts give continuous continuity even in orbiting conditions. They allow high brush contact pressure making slip ring suitable for harsh environments. Brush action cleans itself of dust, dirt, and corrosion. Dual contacts have 1.50 deg radius assuring full conductivity of brushes. Brush arms are non-conductive virgin UL plastic material.

Floating Brush Design Used On .50 - 14.00 Slip Rings

United Equipment Accessories slip rings are unique to the industry because of their floating brush design. This design guarantees that the brush contacts will give continuous continuity even in orbiting conditions. They also allow a higher
brush contact pressure making the slip ring ideal in hostile environments. This brush action literally cleans itself of dust, dirt, and corrosion. It also gives the copper graphite assembly similar electronic current characteristics of a coin silver
type assembly.

UEA slip rings are unique to the industry because of their floating, double pivot point, brush design. The ability of the brush contacts to pivot on the brush arms and the brush arms to pivot on the brush post guarantees positive contact pressure. The higher contact pressure is used to help the brush contacts clean the conductors ring of dust, dirt and corrosion in normal to harsh environments. An added benefit of this high contact pressure is the enhanced ability of our standard copper graphite materials to handle low level electronic circuitry.

The 1.50 degree radius of the dual contacts assure full conductivity of the brushes. Dual contacts even the load of the conductor ring. They also lessen the resistance between the brush contacts and conductor ring.

Brush arms are non-conductive virgin UL plastic material. Brush contact rivets and tension springs are all corrosion resistant materials. Brush shunt wire insulation is colored coded for visual identification of current ratings. Brush terminations are uni-sex field crimpable contacts. Core conductor ring leads are
numerically and color coded for easy identification.

Mounting tubes, wire harnesses or multiple enclosures are also available for this compact, but very rugged slip ring. Typical applications include (but are not limited to): robotic machinery; laminating equipment and packaging machinery; rotary indexing table; rotary antennas; CCTV cameras and monitors; cable reels; exhibits, advertising displays and rotating signage.

Other current slip ring models range in bore sizes of 1.50, 2.50 - 4.0, 6.0 - 8.0 and 10.0 - 14.0 inches. Circuit ratings range from 7.5A up to 600A. per circuit at voltages up to 600 AC. Not all ratings may be available in all bore sizes.
