AudioCodes Expands Product Portfolio with nCite(TM) 1000 and nCite(TM) 4000 Session Border Controllers

SBC product line now more cost effective, feature rich and interoperable with leading application and Softswitch vendors, meeting the needs for large enterprises and service providers

LOD, Israel, May 2 -- AudioCodes (NASDAQ:AUDC), a leading provider of Voice over Packet (VoP) technologies and Voice Network products, announced an important step in broadening its Session Border Controller (SBC) product portfolio to meet the scalability, cost, feature and interoperability needs of large enterprises and service providers. The nCite 1000 product is targeted towards smaller VoIP service providers that require a platform which supports up to 4000 concurrent sessions and the nCite 4000 is targeted towards larger carriers that require a scalable platform well beyond 20,000 concurrent calls.

With the release of the nCite 1000 Session Border Controller, AudioCodes expands its SBC product portfolio to deliver the same functionality, reliability and performance that carriers have come to expect from AudioCodes SBC products but in a low cost, small footprint (1U) form factor. The nCite 1000 product is targeted for markets where service providers are looking for an SBC that scales from 100 concurrent sessions to 4000 concurrent sessions. This Session Border Controller addresses both peering and hosted VoIP applications and services. The nCite 1000 is priced to be competitive in these growing market segments.

The nCite 4000 is a full-featured, IMS ready, scalable Session Border Controller, designed to meet carrier requirements for their growing inter- carrier peering and large hosted business and residential VoIP deployments. The nCite 4000 delivers an impressive initial capacity of 21,000 simultaneous sessions and is scalable up to 84,000 simultaneous sessions while incurring less than 50 microseconds of media latency. The nCite 4000 is the same platform that wireless operators are using today as a security gateway for fixed mobile convergence deployments in North America, Europe and Asia. The nCite 4000 scales to meet the demands of customer networks ranging from the smaller, but rapidly growing VoIP service provider network build-outs, to supporting the larger, more established networks characteristic of incumbent telecom carriers.

"The nCite 4000 is a compact, scalable, purpose built hardware solution that addresses a need among the growing number of carriers seeking to lower their cost-of-entry but retain the ability to scale their VoIP services" stated Ben Rabinowitz, Vice President and General Manager of SBCs and Media Servers at AudioCodes. "Coupled with AudioCodes CPE gateways and media servers and gateways, we provide the complete transport layer for VoIP to PSTN and VoIP to VoIP interworking and transcoding."

The nCite 1000 and 4000 offer features today that provide a great degree of flexibility and functionality to service providers and enable them to offer and peer to multiple VoIP services on a single platform. The features include Virtual SBC partitioning that lets service providers offer Carrier Peering, Hosted FW/NAT traversal and SIP/H.323 Interworking on the same platform. Additional features such as support for ENUM, DNS, CDRs and Privacy Headers along with TCP/UDP/IPSec and TLS support coupled with seamless Transcoding support leveraging the AudioCodes IPmedia media servers makes this a compelling solution.
