New Fischer Ultimate Original Series for Demanding Medical Environment

Fischer Connectors announces new interconnect solutions Fischer UltiMate(TM) Original Series specially designed for a broad range of harsh environment applications. The new Original Series offers rugged, compact, lightweight, sealed connectors and cable assembly solutions ideally suited for medical electronic equipment.

Major features of the new Fischer UltiMate(TM) Original Series include rugged, miniature and ultralight design, extremely robust keying, excellent shielding, and ultimate sealing level IP68/69K even unmated with Fischer's new facilitated cable assembly solutions.

Fischer UltiMate(TM) Original Series is perfectly suited for medical environment applications where extreme reliability and ruggedness are paramount. Its four extremely robust mechanical codings, allowing an easy mating even in the dark, are complete with visual coding to prevent accidental misconnection. The pushpull connector is available in a wide range of body styles, sizes and configurations including multipole contacts from 2 to high density 42 poles. The compact product design with short plugs, small and easy to handle and low profile receptacles makes it perfect for connected devices with restricted space requirements. It offers an easy grip even with gloves. The housing is available in grey natural chrome and black body coating.

Designed for demanding environments, Fischer UltiMate(TM) Original Series is able to withstand extreme temperature fluctuations from -55°C to +135°C and is sterilizable. Thanks to its new one-piece plug body design associated with cable assembly containing highly performing epoxy potting, Fischer UltiMate(TM) Original Series is IP68/69K sealed even unmated, tested according to IEC norm 60529. The Original Series is also complete with EMC 360° high performance shielding.

Made of special high resistant aluminium, Fischer UltiMate(TM) Original Series is 50% lighter than typical brass connectors and is ideal for portable medical devices. This new line of connectors is immune to even the toughest elements including salt spray (5% 35°C, MIL STD-202 Method101A) and moisture. Its long lifetime usage is guaranteed for 10,000 mating cycles.
