Measuring 13.6 x 6 x 4.4 mm (or 2.2 mm mounted through PCB) and weighing 1.3 g, motor can be mounted under taller housing components, such as battery. Standard load speed is 8,500 ±2,000 rpm at rated voltage, standard load current is 130 mA or less, and actuation current is 150 mA or less. Provided there is defined side 1 and side 2 in assembly process, there are no issues with automatic placement. Standard voltage is 2.0 Vdc, and voltage range is 1.7-2.6 V.

Sanyo Introduces Micro 4mm Mid-Mount Reflow Vibrator Motors for Thinner Cell Phones, Disposable Micro Dispensers, etc.
BENSENVILLE, ILLINOIS: SANYO DC Micro Motor Division introduces the 4mm mid-mount reflow motor, part of its fourth generation SMT micro vibration motors. SANYO has been employing reflowable technology since 1998 and has since produced well over 100 million reflow motors. In 2005, at least one quarter of the vibration motors used worldwide will be reflow motors.
Reflow mounting has generally allowed for a lower profile than the standard grommet contact configuration. The new mid-mount motor design, because it can be mounted through the pc board, further reduces the profile by an additional 2mm. At a height similar to that of a shield, the motor can readily be mounted under a taller housing component such as a battery, making it ideal for thin profile products. Provided there is a defined side 1 and side 2 in the assembly process, there are no issues with automatic placement. In addition to the benefits of space savings and ease of assembly, customer field return records have shown that reflow motors help eliminate the contact failures common with spring assemblies.
Applications such as ultra-thin cell phones, micro dispensers of fluids, blood sample diagnostics and other applications requiring a low cost, highly reliable vibration motor are just some of the uses for the mid-mount motor. The motor measures only 4.4mm high (2.2mm if mid-mounted through board) x 6mm wide x 13.6mm long from the terminals to the top of the counterweight. The motor assembly weighs approximately 1.3g. The counterweight weighs approximately 0.7g.
Motor operation is quiet due to the close tolerance of the shaft rotation. Standard voltage is 2.0VDC. Voltage range is 1.7V~2.6V. Standard load counterweight (R=2.3 t=4.5). Directionality is CW viewed from the counterweight side. Standard load speed is 8500 ± 2000rpm at rated voltage. Standard load current is 130mA or less at rated voltage. Actuation current (interlock current) is 150mA or less. Operating temperature range is -10°C~+60°C. Storage temperature range is -40°C~+85°C.
