Sky-Loc Rapid Release Receiver Caps - Replaces Hitch Pins for Quick Release

Big Sky Distribution is announcing their new line of Sky-Loc Rapid Release Receiver Caps. These receiver caps positively lock over the end of quick release ball lock pins allowing them to be used in applications where the hole is not within tolerance or out of round. The receiver cap increases the holding area of the pin and provides for maximum pullout strength of the quick release pin.

This allows quick release ball lock pins to be used in applications where a hitch pin or nut and bolt would normally be used. With a push of the button on the quick release pin the receiver cap and pin can be quickly inserted or removed with out the use of tools. This makes them ideal for quick change over and fieldwork.

Made from 303 stainless steel, they are available to fit 1/4", 5/16", 3/8", 1/2" and 5/8" quick release pins. They are stocked with plain ends as well as with a tapped hole to attach a lanyard to the end cap so it stays with the pin eliminating lost parts. Typical applications have been found in machinery manufacturing, assembly applications, construction equipment as well as in the medical, marine, agricultural and transportation fields.

In addition to the receiver caps, they offer a complete line of Rapid Release Pins. These pins are available in 17-4 stainless steel (High Strength), 304 stainless steel (Commercial Grade) and 4130 steel. Commercial Grade pins are designed for applications where sheer strengths are not demanding. The High Strength pins provide much greater sheer strength. The 4130 pins are designed for applications where high strength is needed and corrosion resistance is not a problem. All pins are stocked in four handle configurations with diameters ranging from 1/4" to 5/8" and lengths ranging from 1/2" up to 6".

In addition to the standard pins, custom pins can be produced to meet the needs of specific applications. Some common modifications include different materials, handle configurations, lengths, end styles and ball placement. A catalog with complete specifications is available.
