Centrify Delivers Unmatched Real-Time Surveillance of Privileged User Activity and System Access to Enhance Security and Compliance Efforts

New Windows Support, High Availability Architecture, and User Session Replayer among Features of Centrify's DirectAudit 2.0 for Improved Visibility and Security

SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Centrify Corporation, the leading provider of security and compliance solutions that centrally control, secure and audit cross-platform systems and applications using Active Directory, today announced the availability of Centrify DirectAudit 2.0, a new solution that delivers detailed, real-time auditing of user sessions on Windows, UNIX and Linux systems for full accounting and replay of user activity and system access.

Nearly every industry and government compliance regulation (including SOX, PCI, FISMA, GLBA, Basel II and HIPAA) requires comprehensive logging and audit trails of privileged user activity, especially on business-critical systems and systems containing sensitive information. At the same time, organizations are augmenting their IT staff with offshore workers, contractors and temporary workers, and are becoming increasingly susceptible to insider attacks. DirectAudit helps organizations get the visibility they need and verify user activity by capturing detailed user session information -- including who logged into what systems, what commands they executed, and what changes they made to key files and data. DirectAudit's flexible querying and reporting features enhance an organization's ability to document compliance and provide robust tools that take the guesswork out of troubleshooting changes that may have led to system failures.

DirectAudit 2.0 is an integrated component of Centrify Suite 2012 Enterprise Edition, the latest release of Centrify's security and compliance solution for controlling, securing and auditing access to cross-platform systems and applications using Active Directory. New support for capture and collection of Windows sessions highlights the more than 75 new features of DirectAudit 2.0. New capabilities also available today include enhanced search and replay, and simplified enterprise integration that automates deployment and configuration. See the Centrify Suite 2012 launch news announced today at: http://www.centrify.com/news/release.asp?id=2011092002.

"Before Centrify, all of our UNIX and Linux systems had their own identity database stored locally, making administration very time consuming and report generation for SOX, PCI and other auditors a costly and manual process," said Ben Russo, Director, Global Systems, Transaction Network Services, Inc. (TNSI). "Now we use Centrify to centrally unify all user access privileges across our heterogeneous systems within Active Directory, which saves us a lot of money and helps us achieve our security and compliance requirements. With the new Centrify Suite 2012, we are particularly interested in Centrify's Hierarchical Zones, which makes it easier to bring identities into Active Directory and logically manage relationships between users, groups and computer roles. The DirectAudit updates are also impressive -- with the new support for auditing Windows in addition to UNIX and Linux we can now see who-did-what on every machine in our environment. DirectAudit is the only product I know of that can give us information at this level of granularity."

The new Windows support complements the UNIX and Linux auditing for complete visibility across IT environments. DirectAudit 2.0 also now scales to thousands of systems with high-availability and performance, without sacrificing easy deployment and management of the entire solution. The new solution also offers a new combination session replayer, with support for both Windows and UNIX sessions from a single replayer.

Additional important new capabilities of DirectAudit 2.0 include:

-- High resolution and efficient capture of session video and metadata; and encryption and compression of session and metadata both in motion and at rest.
-- An easy-to-use console for session search with rich visual replay and export of user sessions; and summarized activity and command log of each session for easy navigation.
-- Distributed scalable session stores with automated rolling databases for easy archive and backup; and command line interface for replayer integration into leading monitoring and SIEM products.
-- Highly scalable and distributable security management with automated deployment and configuration; and flexible role-based access to session replay and platform administration.

"Organizations today want the visibility into what privileged users are doing and the context in which they are operating," said Frank Cabri, vice president of Marketing. "DirectAudit 2.0 captures full screen views of the entire session just as it appeared to the user, and provides a level of detail that has not previously been available to IT managers. This enhanced visibility lowers business risk across the enterprise, allowing organizations to improve security and user behavior through real-time surveillance of privileged systems."
