Enerpac RAT-Series Rail Alignment Tool
Menomonee Falls, WI -- EnerpacŪ introduces the RAT-Series Rail Alignment Tool for safely and effectively positioning track to prevent motor car derailment issues in underground mining applications.
This totally self-contained, turnkey tool positions and aligns underground track, while increasing productivity and worker safety. The tool is rated with a push capacity of 5 tons yet weighs only 70 lbs. An integrated ACME extension screw reaches 16 in., allowing longer reach and fast setup, achieving a maximum tool extension of 76 in., with a collapsed length of 46 in. The hydraulic bladder design reservoir allows for usage in any position, and the cylinder features large bearing surfaces and an internal spring for fast retraction. Featuring a large oil fill, the tool provides a high flow output for each handle stroke.
The Rail Alignment Tool employs a heavy duty Piston and Bearing System to withstand the harshest environments for enhanced protection and durability. The tool includes a high-pressure relief valve to prevent overload mishaps, along with an inline release knob for added safety. A roll cage protects the hydraulic pump, and a steel guard covers the hydraulic line. The Flat Base of the tool features a rear foot that offers a solid load footing for tool stability, with a V-Base attachment supplying a secure connection on the base of the rail. Optional end styles include a wedge head, spreader head and serrated saddle.
"With Enerpac's more than 50 years of experience delivering solutions for precise, controlled movement, the RAT-Series Rail Alignment Tool provides more efficient track positioning and safer mining operations," said Aaron Sztuk, Marketing Leader at Enerpac. "The multiple positioning points of the Rail Alignment Tool offer ease of use and transport in an industry that can often include tough environments and safety hazards. In these conditions, a tool that provides durability and protection is an ideal solution for mining applications."
For workers' ease, the tool includes two ergonomically designed handle straps for improved transport abilities. The Handle Lock Latch System also secures the pump handle while not in use.
