The S4 Punching and Shearing System from Salvagnini Combines Both Sleek Form and Workhorse Functionality
HAMILTON, OH (June 20. 2003) - The Salvagnini S4 punching and shearing system harnesses unrivaled functionality, speed and flexibility with the push of the "Start" button. Conceived with the concept of process as its guiding principle, every detail of the S4 was designed to provide the finest in material handling, punching and shearing, programming and diagnostics to facilitate consistent quality and flexible manufacturing.
The S4's increased productivity and throughput are achieved by reducing the amount of sheet travel required to bring the sheet and punch into firing position, and through deployment of a patented multi-press head, invented and perfected by Salvagnini. The unique punching and shearing head is fitted with a series of independently actuated components that punch and cut parts with a precision and accuracy that outpaces any ordinary turret machine. Unlike turret presses, which must be indexed before each operation, all of the S4's 96 punching tool stations are live, eliminating tool change time and providing far faster and far more flexible production.
