Process Meter offers Ethernet and Internet connectivity.
July 18, 2014 -
Designed for signals such as 4–20 mA, 0–5 V, or 0–10 V, which require zero and span adjustment, Laureate Process Meter can be scaled to 5 full digits from front panel or remotely via software. Accuracy is 0.01% of FS ±2 counts, and conversion rate is 50 or 60 per second. Ethernet connectivity is provided via Ethernet interface board which plugs into host 1/8 DIN digital panel meter. Multiple meters can be connected to LAN or to Internet via router, or directly to host computer via Ethernet cable.

Costa Mesa, CA – Laurel Electronics, Inc. announces the Ethernet version of its Laureate 5-digit process meter for signals such as 4-20 mA, 0-5 V or 0-10 V, which require zero and span adjustment.
Ethernet connectivity is provided by an Ethernet interface board which plugs into the host 1/8 DIN digital panel meter. A 10/100Base-T Ethernet interface is via an industry-standard RJ45 connector. Multiple meters, each with its own Ethernet cable, can be connected to a local area network (LAN) or to the Internet via a router, or directly to a host computer via an Ethernet cable.
LAN and Internet connectivity are supported in software so that the meter can be read and set up remotely. Node Manager Software is shipped on a mini CD for discovery and setup of Laurel Nodes on a local area network. Web server software is also built into each Node and can be used to discover and configure Laurel Nodes over the Internet.
The meter display can be scaled to five full digits from the front panel or remotely via software to read in engineering units, such as PSI or GPM. Accuracy is 0.01% of full scale ± 2 counts. The conversion rate is 50 or 60 per second. Such a high rate is ideal for alarm or control, for peak capture, and for data transmission via the Ethernet. Noise filtering is provided by a programmable adaptive moving average filter, which stabilizes readings in the presence of random noise, yet responds rapidly to actual changes in signal level.
Three meter scaling methods are user selectable: manually entered scale and offset, manually entered two-points, and two-point method using actual transducer signals. The third method has the ability to calibrate the meter and transducer as a system with minimum effort.
A built-in, isolated excitation supply with selectable 5, 10, and 24 Vdc output levels is standard to power transducers or transmitters. The 24 Vdc excitation setting is ideal for powering two-wire, 4-20 mA transmitters.
Options include dual 8A relays for alarm or control, an isolated 4-20 mA, 0-10V, or -10V to +10V analog transmitter output, and USB or RS485 serial communication options. The Modbus Protocol is user selectable along with the simpler Custom ASCII protocol.
Pricing is $230 for the base process meter and $350 with Ethernet I/O is. For product specifications and options, visit www.laurels.com/process.htm
