Litco's New "Inca Gold Exporter" Presswood Pallet Meets International Export Packaging Requirements & Eliminates Costly Delays

Litco International, Inc. announces the new "Inca Gold Exporter" presswood pallet. The pallet meets all of the requirements of the new ISPM 15 (International Standard for Phytosanitary Measures) for export wood packaging. The "Exporter" will help to eliminate the confusion and costly delays associated with pallets when products are shipped to foreign ports.

The new international regulations, which are due to take effect in 2004, require that all timber packaging be specially fumigated or heat-treated. Companies that ship on the "Inca Gold Exporter" will not be affected by the regulations. Inca pallets are made of wood fiber and molded under high heat and pressure which burns out all infestation and eliminates the need for costly fumigation or heat treatment prior to export. The end product is a nestable, unibody design that is clean, dry and pest and odor free. Inca pallets are available in many common sizes and are in the price range of $6.00 each in truckload lots depending on weight capacity ratings.

The cost to the shipper, at the foreign port, of not meeting the requirement can be very high. Charges may include re-palletizing and container re-loading. Penalties may be assessed according to the terms of the letter of credit if the shipment is late. In addition is the time and frustration involved in fixing a problem that may be thousands of miles away.

There are two Litco, Inca presswood pallet plants in the USA, strategically located, to fill the rapidly increasing North American demand for a low cost solution to purchasing export approved pallets.
