Power Switches and Power Injectors accelerate and facilitate connection of standard GbE and PoE cameras to industrial networks. Available in 4- and 6-port models, Power Switches transfer power between GigE network components. Each port can automatically identify type of connected camera and deliver power only when requested. Power Injectors automatically deliver power through Cat6 cable for GigE devices and supply voltage from 24-48 V to as many as 2 independent PoE cameras.

Innovative Components Facilitate Connection of Standard and PoE Cameras to Industrial Networks
Southington, Conn. - March 25, 2009... To support standard GigE or Power over Ethernet (PoE) cameras, Baumer has introduced innovative industrial network components - Power Switches and Power Injectors -- designed to quickly and easily connect gigabit Ethernet cameras to standard networks. The new components support jumbo packets, a necessity for successful operation of gigabit Ethernet systems, and are available in standard sizes and shapes for easy integration into PCI boxes.
Available in four and six-port models, Baumer's new Power Switches transfer power between GigE network components. These switches meet industrial standards with an operating voltage between 24 and 48 volts, and DIN rail mounting. The four-port switch allows up to three GigE or PoE cameras to be connected. Each port can automatically identify the type of camera that is connected and will deliver power only when requested by the camera. Offering increased flexibility, the six-port switch provides two additional ports. The last port can serve as a standard copper or SFP-compatible fiber optic port to serve harsh environment applications or to communicate over long distances.
Baumer Power Injectors automatically deliver power through the Cat6 cable for GigE devices. These injectors supply voltage ranging from 24 to 48 volts to as many as two independent PoE cameras.
