Server Technology Releases Sentry Power Manager Management Pack for Microsoft® System Center Operations Manager 2007

Data center power and environmental solution provides measurement, monitoring and trending information; designed to improve uptime, increase energy efficiency and reduce operating costs

RENO, Nev., -- Server Technology Inc., the global leader for Cabinet Power Distribution Unit and Power Measurement and Monitoring Solutions, today announced the release of the Sentry Power Manager (SPM) Management Pack for the Microsoft System Center Operations Manager 2007 R2.

"This comprehensive integration of SPM, our data center power measurement and monitoring solution, with System Center Operations Manager 2007, gives data center professionals a comprehensive dashboard view to manage their networked cabinet power distribution units (CDUs), including all alerts, alarms and power and environmental information," said Calvin Nicholson, senior director of software and firmware development. "It's an incredibly effective and scalable solution for data center power monitoring and capacity planning needs," said Nicholson.

"Customers will benefit from this addition of monitoring within System Center Operations Manager," said Andrew Conway, director of product management, Microsoft System Center. "SPM and System Center Operations Manager will help maximize your IT staff's productivity," said Conway.

The Server Technology SPM management pack, through the SPM Application Program Interface (API) enables graphical measuring, monitoring and trending of network power data through the data center enterprise. When SPM reports critical rack-level events, configured data in SPM is made available through Microsoft's System Center Operations Manager to support decisions for improving data center uptime, increasing energy efficiency, reducing operating costs and minimizing carbon footprint. SPM's API has the capability to communicate data center information to existing management operations systems, such as System Center Operations Manager.
