Cannon T4 Inc Announces New Smart Complete Power Management Solution
Press release date: April 15, 2014
Cannon T4 Inc, the international leader in data cabinets and metal enclosure systems for use in the electronics and IT industries, has announced a new range of smart power management solutions which aim to boost the efficiency of data centers whilst reducing wasted manpower by providing market-leading monitoring and control of PDUs. Up to 16 PDUs can be chained together making it possible to monitor and control hundreds of individual sockets using one simple, secure, web-based graphical management interface.
The Cannon Power PDUs offer a complete power management solution. Each PDU features a highly visible 1.8 inch colour LCD display allowing easily readable information for the strip, such as the current, voltage, power, energy consumption (kWh), power factor, as well as humidity and temperature. However the real power of the system comes from being able to add an IP dongle that allows multiple PDUs to be monitored and controlled remotely via a single IP address over an Ethernet network. This can reduce manpower and travel costs as well as help with capacity planning and improving the overall efficiency of the data center.
Up to 16 PDUs can be chained together with Cat6 patch cables, all sharing the IP address and the graphical user interface. The management suite not only allows remote monitoring of the strip but, depending on the model, it can also monitor individual power outlets and switch them on and off. Measurements can be logged to help with reporting and alerts can be set to raise the alarm when designated thresholds are exceeded.
The Cannon Power PDUs are available in either vertical (zero U) or horizontal versions (1U or 2U) which can be rack mounted. Each unit can have a mix of between 2 to 36 C13 sockets, 2 to 12 C19 sockets, and 2 to 24 of one of UK45, UK135, UK90, CEE7/4, US NEMA, or CEE7/5 sockets. Power input can be either single or three-phase, 230V or 400V, and between 10A to 32A.
Each strip features thermal resettable fuses, with options for circuit breakers and individually fused sockets. The PDU’s power input is available in top or bottom-feed and a variety of fly lead lengths. Finally each strip is available in four colors as standard: black, grey, blue, and red.
Cannon T4 Inc is also releasing a cost-efficient strip for local smart monitoring solution. These strips feature a centrally-mounted, blue LED display to allow true RMS current monitoring and are available with the same range of mounting and socket options as Cannon T4 smart PDUs.
