New Encore(TM) Manual Powder Spray System Delivers Performance on Demand with On-Gun Controls and Display

AMHERST, Ohio, Feb. 18 /-- The Industrial Coating Systems division of Nordson Corporation (NASDAQ:NDSN) has introduced the revolutionary new Encore manual powder spray system. Packed with features, the Encore system provides coaters with unsurpassed ease of use, coating capability and operating control for an unprecedented level of coating performance on demand.

The Encore powder spray system features a plug-and-play design for ease of use and greater productivity. It includes a lightweight gun with On-Gun controls and display, highly efficient pump, simple yet flexible controls with digital closed loop flow control.

"The Encore system lets you work smarter, not harder," says Bob Allsop, marketing manager, Industrial Coating Systems. "The back of the gun features a keypad and display that is revolutionary in both design and functionality. Included is a Mode Selection button with icons that show you which mode you're in; a brilliant blue LED display that indicates values in each mode; and a Gun Purge button.

"You have complete control in hand, with everything in front," Allsop continues. "Your focus stays on the part you're coating, with more control, accuracy and repeatability than ever before."

The Encore gun is the only gun on the market to provide PowerPurge(TM) -- the smart way to assure optimum gun spray performance. It cleans the powder path from the base of the handle completely through the Encore gun, providing consistent spray patterns and powder deposition, plus an extra measure of protection against color contamination when changing colors.

The Encore control unit is unlike any other on the powder coating market today. Primary electronic and pneumatic components reside in one enclosure, and an incredibly compact operator interface panel in another, connected by an interface cable.

The control unit allows the operator to match the spray pattern to the part simply by choosing either Smart Flow or Classic Flow Modes.

"Plus, the control unit's digital closed-loop flow control adjusts airflow to the pump, regardless of fluctuations in plant air pressure, to maintain consistent, repeatable powder flow," says Allsop. "That means consistent, repeatable coating coverage for optimum finish quality and operating efficiency for every part, every time."

The Encore pump is Nordson's smallest pump ever -- and designed for the highest level of powder coating performance. The pump provides higher flow rates, with less air consumption, than every other conventional system. The result is a much softer spray pattern that consistently delivers coating efficiency and quality finishes for superior performance on demand.

The Encore system is available in five mobile configurations that include two vibratory box feeder versions and three different capacity hopper sizes to best suit specific powder coating operations.
