Larson Electronics' Magnalight.com Announces Addition of 480 VAC to 120/208 Power Transformer

The Magnalight MGPD-SP-125-1D-45-3X50 power transformer gives operators the ability to tap into 480 VAC three phase power sources and convert it to the 120V/208Y VAC needed for powering equipment and lighting. This power transformer is equipped with a 45 KVA transformer for heavy duty use and is equipped with main and secondary breakers for safe operation. Designed with integral skid pockets and a centrally located lifting eyelet for easy deployment, this transformer is ideal for new construction operations and plant turnarounds where standard voltages are unavailable.

The MGPD-SP-125-1D-45-3X50 power transformer allows operators to tap into 480VAC three phase power sources and step this current down to the 120/208Y voltages required for powering a wide variety of tools and equipment on job sites. This portable transformer is ideal for tapping into 480VAC power sources outside of the work area when standard 120 VAC current is unavailable. The MGPD-SP-125-1D-45-3X50 is designed to be connected to high voltage three phase 480 VAC which is stepped down to 120/208 VAC to allow the operation of lighting, equipment and devices commonly used during the construction of new buildings or during plant turnarounds. This portable power transformer is fitted with a 45 KVA transformer and provides protection through a single 125 amp main breaker, three 50 amp double pole GFI breakers, and a fusible or non-fusible NEMA-3R disconnect. The system is housed within a heavy duty steel tube cage made from 2" square steel and is fitted with a centrally located lifting eyelet and rectangular integral skid pockets to allow workers to easily load and unload the unit onto and off of carriers using forklifts or cranes. The frame is powder coated for a durable protective finish and all of the components are housed within durable steel enclosures for safe operation and protection from the elements. This particular unit is designed to allow operators to hard wire their own primary connections and secondary wiring to the 50 amp breakers, making it a more versatile solution for locations where specialized power distribution and connection options are needed. These portable transformers are popularly used with Magnalight's explosion proof lighting and hazardous location equipment due to their reliable output and safe power management capabilities.

"Operators needing a very stable portable power station who have specialized power needs and prefer to hard wire their own primary and secondary connections will find the MGPD-SP-125-1D-45-3X50 a good solution for their power needs," said Rob Bresnahan with Larson Electronics' Magnalight.com. "This convenient power setup allows for quick shipments when temporary power is needed. "
