Able to deliver 0.05 Nm continuous torque within overall envelope of 8 mm, R08 gearhead can be coupled with brush dc, brushless, and stepper motors. Standard gearbox is available from 4-256 ratios, which can be further extended to 4,096, and metallic tube minimizes noise while increasing robustness and torque output. Featuring monobloc shaft, gearhead delivers up to 10 N radial load carrying capacity and can be customized to meet application requirements.

New Compact Planetary Gearhead Boasts Greater Strength, Power and Endurance
Enable original equipment manufacturers to get twice the radial load carrying capacity within an overall smaller envelope
WEST CHESTER, PA - Portescap, A Danaher Motion Company, introduces the R08 Planetary Gearhead, an incredibly robust gearhead that delivers high continuous torque of 0.05 Nm within a smaller overall envelope of 8mm than its comparable models. Portescap's inherent design features provide increased gearhead life and durability making it capable of delivering twice the radial load carrying capacity (upto 10N) when compared to competitive models. The standard gearbox is available from 4 to 256 ratios which can be further extended to higher ratios of 4096. The R08 gearhead can be coupled with Brush DC, Brushless and Stepper motors in their respective frame sizes. It can also be customized to meet specific customer application requirements.
Design improvements include a unique crimping process performed along with the press fit that significantly increases strength and shock absorption capacity. Users will also benefit from a monobloc shaft that reduces the total number of components thus reducing the cost of ownership and the metallic tube which lowers noise, while increasing the overall robustness and torque output of the complete assembly.
The small frame size, robust design and high torque output makes R08 planetary gearheads well suited for use in medical applications such as insulin/implantable pumps, imaging (collimators, radiography) and biotic fingers, security and access applications such as door locks, cameras and alarm systems, instrumentation applications such as industrial robots, and aerospace and defense applications such as small robotics for underwater particle or mine detection.
