Combining IP67-rated VS-1 Smart Camera and Visionscape® I-PAK® Software with NERLITE® lighting, optics, and accessories, VS-1 Track and Trace uses machine vision tools to read barcodes, perform OCR and OCV, and inspect labels for misalignment and skew. System is suitable for pharmaceutical product packagers that are required by FDA to check content and legibility of date and lot codes and are bound by GMP to verify that pharmaceutical packaging is correctly formed.

Microscan Introduces Complete Solution for Packaging Traceability
RENTON, WA - Microscan, a global technology leader for track and trace solutions, introduces the newest solution for inspecting and verifying package label content, the VS-1 Track and Trace. This complete inspection solution will be actively displayed in Microscan's Booth #6140 at Pack Expo International 2010 at Chicago's McCormick Place from October 31 to November 3, 2010.
Today's product packaging manufacturers must meet demanding requirements to ensure that date and lot codes and other data on package labels are correct in relation to the content of the package. This requirement applies in particular to pharmaceutical product packagers that are required by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to check the content and legibility of date and lot codes, and are bound by Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) to verify that pharmaceutical packaging is correctly formed, i.e. that all seals and closures are intact and packages are correctly assembled.
