MICROS Delivers Harmony to POS Technology with Simphony(TM)

The Industry's First True Enterprise POS Solution, Featuring Service Oriented Architecture, Debuts at FS/TEC

COLUMBIA, Md., Oct. 10 -- MICROS Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:MCRS), a leading provider of information technology solutions for the hospitality and retail industries, is pleased to announce the launch of Simphony(TM), the first true enterprise point-of-sale (POS) product utilizing a service oriented architecture (SOA). MICROS will showcase the centralized, enterprise-enabled POS product at the 12th Annual International Foodservice Technology Exposition (Booth #3005) in Atlanta, Georgia, October 10-13, 2007.

Simphony(TM)'s superior architecture is designed to reflect the processes and flow of the business implementing it, while the flexibility of SOA supports diverse deployment and operational requirements that meet the customer's needs. The ability to be deployed in a manner that looks like the customer's business is the key to Simphony(TM)'s distinction.

In addition to its advanced architecture, Simphony(TM) also features high levels of scalability, resiliency, flexibility, and integration. Simphony(TM) is capable of scaling from a single site to thousands of properties and its multiple levels of resiliency enable the customer to perform mission-critical operations in the event of an upstream technical failure. Simphony(TM)'s flexible configuration and deployment options fulfill the customer's needs regardless of the technical deployment requirements or the size of the enterprise.

"Simphony(TM) can be hosted in one of MICROS's four worldwide datacenters, or it can be self-hosted; the hosted model provides substantial cost savings and allows the customer to shift focus from managing technology to managing everyday business," stated Tom Moran, Vice President, MICROS Restaurant Sales and Strategies. "Utilizing integrated web services, Simphony(TM) delivers full integration to diverse environments, managing discrete business functions. These web-based tools help minimize total cost of ownership through consolidated system management and offer new and innovative opportunities to increase sales and guest satisfaction."

"We are excited to unveil the industry's first enterprise POS solution with a service oriented architecture," continued Mr. Moran. "With unparalleled design, flexibility, and scalability, Simphony(TM) is a perfect fit for today's evolving business requirements and MICROS anticipates the solution to far exceed industry requirements."
