Citizen Launches Ultra Compact POS Printer
Citizen Systems Europe, the leading manufacturer of high quality label, barcode and industrial printers, has launched an innovative ultra compact and lightweight thermal printer ideal for use in a wide range of labelling and Point of Sale applications. The robust CT-S281L can print high definition labels and receipts, as well as both 1D and 2D barcodes quickly and easily.
From printing receipts and tickets to printing labels in medical and office applications, the robust CT-S281L has been designed to be easy to use and provide a long, low maintenance service life. Featuring easy drop-in paper loading, media can be changed in moments and an integrated auto-cutter for full and partial cuts makes presenting labels, receipts and documentation simple. In addition, the unit features serial or USB interfaces, so that it can be easily connected to standard retail and office equipment.
The new printer is capable of printing speeds of up to 80 mm/sec, producing two colour, text and graphics quickly and accurately. The CT-S281L is compatible with a wide range of media types and sizes, up to 58 mm in width and between 60 and 100 microns in thickness. It is also capable of printing to label gaps as small as 2 mm, reducing paper wastage to a minimum, while a black mark registration sensor ensures the accurate positioning of the printing media.
The innovative POS printer uses Citizen's latest MLT-4280 mechanism, which incorporates a zinc-plated die cast frame. This results in excellent shock-resistance, anti-static properties, low noise printing and low heat build-up, eliminating the most common causes of poor print quality.
The CT-S281L can be desktop or wall-mounted and is available in either black or white depending on the specific needs of an application. The printer comes complete with Bartender Ultralight and all required drivers.
