New 50-Amp Mild Steel Consumables Now Available for Hypertherm Hyperformance Plasma® Systems

Hanover, NH, USA - Hypertherm today announced the release of new 50-amp cutting consumables for its HyPerformance Plasma systems. The oxygen consumables were designed specifically to optimize the operation of HyPerformance Plasma when cutting mild steel with a thickness between 22 gauge (0.8 mm) and 5/16 (8.0 mm) of an inch.

Development was driven by feedback from customers who wanted cutting consumables with a power level between the 30 and 80-amp choices currently offered by Hypertherm. The new 50-amp consumables do just that, delivering excellent edge quality and fast cutting speed to customers cutting through certain thicknesses of mild steel. In addition to the 30, 50, and 80 amp power levels, Hypertherm also offers consumables at the 100, 130, 200 and 260 amp levels.

"We are excited to introduce a product that meets the needs of our customers and is consistent with what they have come to expect when using Hypertherm HyPerformance Plasma," said Erik Brine, Hypertherm marketing manager. "In addition, to faster cutting speeds and improved cut quality, people using the new 50-amp version will save money thanks to our patented LongLife technology that provides a longer consumable life."

The new 50-amp consumables are available for the HyPerformance Plasma HPR130 and HPR260 systems, as well as HyDefinition® HD3070 and HD4070 systems retrofitted with a HyPerformance Plasma torch.
