Newport Introduces the SmartTable® OTS Optical Table System
Irvine, CA - May 19, 2009 - Newport Corporation, a worldwide leader in laser and photonic solutions that Make, Manage, and Measure LightSM, announces a new offering of unique accessories for the SmartTable® OTS(TM) optical table system. It includes additional shelving options and support rails to improve the safety, ergonomics, and space efficiency of Newport's SmartTable OTS system. For added convenience, all of these new accessories are designed to attach directly to the SmartTable OTS frame to improve overall system mobility.
The new shelving products improve lab space utilization, organization, and safety. They provide an efficient and economical option that expands storage space and allows researchers to remove non-essential items from their table. This increases useable worksurface space and eliminates potential noise sources, like cooling fans, from disturbing sensitive experiments. Another useful accessory, the "hip bar", allows users to lean into their experiment to adjust table components without causing excessive motion to the entire table, functioning as a bumper guard for the vibration-isolated table.
Warren Booth, Vibration Control Product Manager at Newport, states, "Since the release of the SmartTable OTS system, we have been receiving continuous feedback from users suggesting additional features and accessories they would like to see offered for the SmartTable OTS and this recent release is a direct result of their requests. The prototype OTS-LSC system attaches directly to the OTS frame structure via the overhead shelf supports to provide an integrated, laser safe, optical table system which can easily be relocated or repositioned with the lab."
