Icynene Launches an Innovative New Product Icynene Classic Max(TM) Approved for use without an ignition Barrier

Press release date: November 13, 2012

Mississauga, ON - Leading spray foam manufacturer, Icynene Corp., is pleased to announce a major innovation in open cell spray foam insulation with the launch of its new Icynene Classic Max (LD-C-50v2™), which has been approved by ICC-ES for use without an ignition barrier in residential projects. This innovative product also provides superior spray performance (up to 50% greater yield than competitive sucrose-based formulas), superior adhesion (to substrates and to itself), drip-free application, and advanced air pocket control.

"ICC-ES's approval of Icynene Classic Max is the result of our substantial investment in research and testing. Icynene dealers deserve the industry-leading performance they have come to expect of our light-density products, without having to deal with the cost and complexity of ignition barriers or the inferior spray performance of sucrose-based foams," said CEO Howard Deck.

ICC-ES approval (ESR 1826) confirms that Icynene Classic Max can be sprayed throughout the entire residential structure without an ignition barrier, including unvented attics.

"As the spray foam industry leader, Icynene has a duty to be diligent in the products it offers. Icynene completed comprehensive testing of Icynene Classic Max on actual end use conditions with small- and large-scale testing as well as computer modelling under a wide variety of scenarios. The result helps advance the science and understanding of how spray foams perform in real life situations," said VP Engineering, Paul Duffy.

“For more than 25 years, Icynene's core product offering has been providing energy efficient thermal comfort and air-sealing in hundreds of thousands of buildings across the globe. Icynene continues to push the transformation of the insulation industry with its innovative products” said VP Marketing, Betsy Cosper.

The ESR Report, ESR #1826, can be downloaded from the ICC-ES website www.icc-es.org or from the Icynene website www.icynene.com .
