Supplied in 1U rackmount chassis, FWA8208 is based on IntelŽ C216 chipset and supports 3rd Generation Intel Core™ i7/i5/i3 and Intel XeonŽ processors that use LGA1155 socket. Up to 8 Gigabit LAN ports are supported with IntelŽ 82579LM and IntelŽ 82583 network controllers, and 4 DDR3 memory sockets allow up to 32 GB system memory with or without ECC support. LAN bypass as well as multiple I/O, connectivity, and expansion options are available as standard.

IBASE Announces High Performance IntelŽ-Based Appliance with 8 Gigabit LANs
Sunnyvale, California. – IBASE Technology Inc. (TASDAQ: 8050), a world-leading manufacturer of industrial motherboards and embedded systems, is announcing the release of the FWA8208 network appliance featuring 8 high-speed Gigabit LANs and support for 3rd Generation IntelŽ Core™ processors that use the LGA1155 processor socket. Built in a 1U rackmount chassis, the FWA8208 is designed for various networking applications requiring high computing performance and big bandwidth applications.
Based on the IntelŽ C216 chipset, the FWA8208 supports 3rd Generation IntelŽ Core™ i7/i5/i3 and IntelŽ XeonŽ processors. With the IntelŽ 82579LM and IntelŽ 82583 network controllers, up to eight Gigabit LAN ports are supported, as well as IntelŽ Active Management Technology functionality. A maximum LAN port throughput of 100% is achievable. Four DDR3 memory sockets allow up to 32GB of system memory with or without ECC support depending on the type of processor used.
This powerful networking system offers high performance, reliability, and functionality. The LAN bypass function, which is required in certain applications, is configurable in the BIOS. Three smart fans installed ensure the right operation temperature for the system, as well as less fan noise. Rich I/O expansion and storage comes in the form of a CFast socket, a CF socket, an mSATA-compatible Mini PCI-E socket, four USB 3.0 ports, a console RJ-45 port, and an optional dual 2.5-inch HDD drive bay. Several PCI-E 8x riser cards and GbE module cards are also supported.
